Hi there! I’m Briana, and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #130324).
I graduated from Pepperdine University with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, and an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. I have always had an innate passion for helping others, and find joy in holding a safe space for clients to flourish. I have worked in a private practice setting with children, adolescents, teenagers, adults, couples, and families.
Research shows that the most important predictor of success in therapy is the quality of the relationship between therapist & client. It's important that our personalities mesh, & that you feel seen/heard throughout the therapy process. This is why I offer a consultation before moving forward with sessions. Use this opportunity to ask me questions :)
Individuals and couples who identify as straight, gay, lesbian, bi, queer, trans, non-binary, poly, and kink, find a safe space in my office to explore their personal and relational issues. Let's write your next chapter together.
I charge $200 per individual session, and $250 per couples session.
Limited sliding scale openings available- please inquire.
I am an in network provider for Anthem Blue Cross through Medi-Cal, and Optum.
Have you been struggling in some aspect of your life, or within a relationship? I will help you lift that weight off of your shoulders, breathe easier, and live a happier life. Some benefits you might get through therapy with me include: 1) improved communication and closeness in your relationships by changing unhelpful patterns, 2) the ability to respond to your emotions rather than react to them, 3) untangle and process past trauma, 4) rewire your brain by having a more positive outlook on life 5) therapy that is uniquely attuned to YOU and your personal needs.
I utilize the Gottman Method in my work with couples. The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
Areas of specialization: Dating and Relationships, Couples Counseling, Marriage Counseling, Codependency, Attachment, Specific phobias, PMDD, Cyclothymia, Pre-Marital Counseling, and Sex Issues.
